Healthcare Administration Certificate

The Certificate in Healthcare Administration was created of the need in the medical community to provide leadership training and useable information for practice administrators, hospital personnel and other healthcare-affiliated employees. Here are a few additional points of interest for you:

The program is designed to be a "stand alone" certificate program or a "bridge" to a higher degree. The program is 12 credit hours, of which 9 may be used for credit towards a higher degree (provided a student meets the admissions criteria of that particular program).

The Certificate courses are as follows:

Fall:
Healthcare Accounting and Finance

Healthcare Legal Issues and Ethics

Spring:

Healthcare Operations Management

Healthcare Human Resource Management

  • Each course will begin with a review of "foundational information" so that all students will gain a basic understanding of the language, terms and practices.
  • The program started in Fall 2006 and is expected to run while demanded.
  • Direct billing to a third party (hospitals, clinics or physician offices) is available.
